Technology Specialist of the Year
Nominate a technology specialist for the 2009 Technology Specialist of the Year at the Educational Technology Conference. This award acknowledges the outstanding efforts of a technology specialist who has made a significant impact on educational technology in his/her P-12 public or private school district or building, career center, or education service center.
Who is eligible?
The 2009 Ohio Technology Specialist of the Year Award is open to any individual assigned the job responsibility and duties of coordinating computer technology-based practices or work within an Ohio P-12 public or private school district or educational service center. This may include, but is not limited to, candidates who function as technology coordinators, educational technologists, technology integrationists and networking technicians. A superintendent, school administrator, technology teacher leader, technology committee or other appropriate personnel can submit a nomination for the 2009 Ohio Technology Specialist of the Year. Nominations may be self-submitted.
What do the finalists and the winner receive?
All finalists will be honored during the 2009 Educational Technology Conference, February 2, 3 and 4 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Each finalist will receive complimentary full-Conference registration and meal tickets. The 2009 Technology Specialist of the Year will receive complimentary full-Conference registration and meal tickets, stipend, lodging for two nights, an award plaque, and a monetary award to be used toward the purchase of technology for use in the classroom or school district.
What are the deadlines?
Nominations must be submitted by Wednesday, October 15, 2008. All nominations marked "complete" will be reviewed and scored. Finalists, winners and their nominators will be notified by December of their status.
