2010 Volunteer Opportunity

Due to an outstanding response from interested volunteers, the limit for volunteers for the 2010 Conference has been reached. In the event that additional volunteers are required, individuals on the waiting list will be contacted on an as needed basis.

Please note that only online volunteer applications (no mail, fax or email) will be accepted. Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

What is a Conference volunteer?

Conference volunteers provide assistance necessary for making the Ohio Educational Technology Conference a reality. Volunteers agree to work eight (8) hours onsite at the Greater Columbus Convention Center at the Conference - February 1-3, 2010,

** Please note that a very limited number of volunteer opportunities will be available on Sunday, January 31, 2010 for registration preparation.

Who is eligible to serve as a volunteer?

Anyone with an interest in educational technology and life-long learning who is interested in taking an active role in the Conference is eligible to serve as a volunteer.

What do volunteers receive in exchange for their time and efforts?

Volunteers receive complimentary full-Conference registration for all three (3) days of the Conference. Volunteers may also be provided with a complimentary t-shirt or badge ribbon which MUST be worn during their hours of service.

Are Volunteers allowed to select their hours of volunteer service?

The volunteer application encourages candidates to select dates/times that best fit their respective schedules. However, eTech Ohio CANNOT guarantee assignment date or time. Please note that there are a limited number of available volunteer opportunities for Sunday, January 31, 2010.

What is the deadline for submitting a volunteer application?

Volunteer applications are considered on a first-come, first-served basis. The Call for Volunteers will be closed once a sufficient pool of volunteer applications is received.

When will volunteers be notified?

Volunteers will be notified of acceptance or denial via email by Wednesday, December 9, 2009.

What happens in an emergency or cannot report/perform my duties?

A volunteer is asked to notify eTech Ohio (conference@etech.ohio.gov / 877.383.2406) within 24-hours of volunteer service assignment if s/he is unable to report for or perform his/her assigned duties. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of one's complimentary registration and may also result in being billed for any days of Conference attendance.
