eTech Ohio Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT)

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility for this grant is based upon Title I Status, Academic Emergency/Academic Watch status, mathematics and English/language Arts achievement scores and Technology Capacity.

The following criteria are used to define eligibility requirements for the competitive portion of the EETT program. Specifically, Local Education Agencies (LEAs) must meet to be considered "high-need" as defined by:

  1. A Local Education Agency (LEA) among those in Ohio with the highest numbers or percentages of children from families with incomes below poverty line per Title I allocations (as defined by the Office of Management and Budget and indicated in the U.S. Census);

  2. Operates one or more schools identified as being in academic watch or academic emergency status for the academic school year with non-passing report cards scores in the academic content areas of mathematics and English/language Arts at the fourth and sixth grade level;

  3. Has a substantial need for assistance in acquiring and using technology.

  4. Eligible LEA's must serve grades K - 8

  5. Must have a completed the eTech Ohio's Biennial Educational Technology Assessment (BETA)

  6. A substantial need for assistance in acquiring and using technology (high technology need LEAs) is determined by examining data reported in the Biennial Educational Technology Assessment (BETA) school building level survey and focusing on the following criteria:

    1. Student to computer ratio;

    2. Teachers' levels of technology skills; and

    3. Local infrastructure.

  7. Applicant must have an approved eTech Ohio certified approved Technology Plan.

These requirements are utilized during the competitive grant review process.
