eTech Ohio Expert Interview Series

Program Overview

eTech Ohio conducted interviews with experts from Ohio and beyond on topics of high interest, including technology integration, evaluating professional development, high-quality professional development and technology planning. Expert Interviews with Barbara Phillips, Edie Holcomb, Marian Shaffner, and Thomas Guskey were designed to provide additional resources for those who face the challenges of technology integration and professional development planning. These interviews are accessible to everyone and will be updated periodically.

Barbara Phillips

High-Quality Professional Development
Barbara Phillips is the assistant director at the Ohio Department of Education. She led the development of the state reporting tool for determining how many teachers participate in high-quality professional development each year.

Edie Holcomb

Asking the Right Questions
Edie Holcomb is well known in the area of school leadership, improvement and reform. In this interview, Edie discusses how to ask the right questions specifically targeting technology planning. In TPT v3, eTech Ohio has adopted Dr. Holcomb's five guiding questions along with techniques for collaboration and school change.
