eTech Ohio provides a competitive professional development grant. Teachers who participate in the grant learn to conduct action research within their classrooms to see what impact technology has on teaching and learning.
There are also several websites that provide information for educators on how to conduct action research. Links to two of these sites are provided below.
Johns Hopkins University
This site provides a good overview of action research. It also outlines what the action research process entails including identifying your questions, learning about your topic, developing your study, collecting and analyzing the data and, finally, sharing your results.
Madison City School District, Madison WI
The Madison City School District's website on action research is straight forward, and easy to navigate. Beginning with the explanation of what action research is, one is guided through the important stages of conducting and completing an action research project. The link to "What is and What is NOT Action Research" is very useful. This site may serve as a tutorial for a teacher interested in AR.
