Creating a Learning Environment with Technology that will Enable Teacher Self-Reflection

Abstract: Question: How can I create a learning environment through the use of technology that will enable teacher self-reflection about their use of classroom assessment? I wanted to contribute to teacher self reflection to change pedagogy and increase student achievement. Summaries, evaluations, and resources of each in-service were posted on a website I developed. Several teachers participated in a reflection log. A website counter was maintained and I kept a journal of teacher presentations. Three premises developed from this study. Teachers want to be actively engaged in their own PD. Teachers are engaged when students are involved in higher level thinking activities and acknowledge their own success. Finally, good assessment strategies are beneficial for all. I will continue to build upon website and participate on the PD committee next year.
