Students and Interactive Technology
-
Abstract
-
How can interactive technology, specifically interactive white boards and personal learning tools be used to engage our students? What techniques can we use with this technology to motivate students and increase achievement? Professional development, observations of students, use of LeapPad skill cards and individual learning paths, assessments, and interactive writing provided the strategies and documentation for the study. We looked at our data and found evidence of student progress in writing and reading. Our assertions are that students are more motivated, engaged and responsible for their learning. Interactive white boards helped our students share, organize, and edit their ideas during the writing process. The interactive personal learning tools supported students in their acquisition of critical reading skills.
