Social Studies Podcasting

Abstract
How can podcasting help our students master the academic content standards in social studies? Our assertions are: When using BOTH the podcast AND other supplemental materials student test scores improve, and Podcasts do not take the place of day-to-day instruction taking place with the classroom. In addition, when implementing podcasts as part of instruction or homework, some issues to consider are school policies, computers in the classroom and parental permissions.
