Podcasting in the Foreign Language Classroom

Abstract
Ipods and Podcasting? What are they and how can we use them to improve student achievement? These emerging technologies have taken the world by storm and have piqued the interest of our current generation. Within the foreign language classroom, these technologies along with the use of audio recording software have become an excellent alternative teaching tool. As we implemented these, we found that podcasting at various levels in a variety of situations has a positive effect on student's listening skills and overall attitudes towards listening and speaking as a whole. Through the use of this technology, students have become more active participants in the greater mastery of the foreign language and have learned to use one of the things that they love to play with to learn.
