Using Emerging Technology to Enhance Learning in Mathematics and Science

Abstract
Our team incorporated the use of new technologies such as interactive whiteboards and personal response systems in the classroom and monitored student reaction and performance. Our assertions based on the action research study are: 1) the use of the interactive whiteboard and the personal response system has increased motivation and enthusiasm as well as student participation in classroom activities, and 2) the personal response system provided feedback for students and teachers to accurately gauge student comprehension to enable remediation and individualized instruction when necessary.
