Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) Goals
- Improve student academic achievement through the use of technology in schools
- Technology literate by the end of eighth grade
- Effective integration of technology with teacher training and curriculum development to establish successful research-based, instructional methods
Ohio's EETT project
- Awards provided to high need buildings based upon Title I status, ODE report card status (Academic Emergency/ Academic Watch in grades 4 and 6 for mathematics and English language arts) and Technology Capacity
- Requirement that 25 percent of award assigned to professional development
- Targeted grades K-8
- Initial grant implementation 03/04 school year. New and Continuation grant implementation 04/05 and 05/06 school years.
- Development/implementation of lessons aligned to the Academic Content Standards for Math and English/Language Arts
- Pilot of a set of web-based curriculum management and instructional design tools that allow for Online Content/Course Development and Management or "Off-the-Shelf" Course/Learning Management System.
- Scientifically-based research and evaluation strategies employed to produce impact on teaching and learning for results on student achievement
- Timeline - winter release of RFP, spring applications due, summer awards announce
