What are the system requirements?

Macintosh OS 10.2 or higher or Windows 2000 or XP. Internet Explorer, Firefox and Netscape are supported. Safari is not a supported web browser.

Can I register for more than one course?

Yes. However, registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Also, due to registration limits, there may be a limit to the number of participants a district may have enrolled.

Who can take the eLearning - Online PD?

The eLearning Online PD courses are designed for Ohio public PK-20 educators. Each course has a different targeted audience based upon the content of the course. Please see each course description for eligibility.

What is a pilot?

The pilot is a testing of the eLearning - Online PD courses. There may be some technological complications that may lead to a delay in some of the work. All possible allowances will be made to accommodate any situation that may arise.

Is there a charge for the courses and how much?

There is a cost for each course. The fee will vary, depending upon the course and the educational institution. To determine cost per course, click on "title."

Certificates of participation/number of hours per course

Certificates of participation and graduate credits are available. They, too, depend upon the course and institution. However, participating colleges or universities are: University of Cincinnati (quarter hours), Cleveland State University, Notre Dame College and Ashland University (all semester hours). Please visit http://www.etech.ohio.gov/go/elearning to view each individual course's requirements.

How do I register for classes?

Registration for eLearning - Online PD courses takes place through the Opportunity Tracking Tool, which requires a Hall Pass account. If you do not have a current Hall Pass account, you will need to create a new account prior to registering. Simply follow the prompts and complete all necessary fields.

Are master's program courses offered?
Top

Yes, master's courses are offered. However, courses are approved for specific graduate programs at the discretion of the college or university. Please consult with your degree-granting institution regarding the acceptance of eTech Ohio's coursework to fulfill the requirements a specific graduate program.

How do I review course descriptions, eligibility requirements, etc?

How will I be notified with my login information?
Top

Approximately 1 week prior to the start of the course, you will receive a welcome letter from eTech Ohio eLearning staff that contains your username and password, as well as basic information about your course. You will also receive a separate email from your facilitator welcoming you to your course.
It is very important that you check your bulk email or junk email folder during this time. Sometimes email will be placed into this folder. If you have not received an email with your username and password a few days before your course is expected to begin, please contact elearning@etech.ohio.gov.

How do I become a highly qualified teacher?

There are several of our courses that you may take to assist you in becoming highly qualified. In fact, you can obtain all 45 hours and become highly qualified in math, science and social studies completely with our online professional development courses: OMAP, OSCI, and SSIO. Please remember that each module is a prerequisite for the next.

What are Unique Opportunities?

Any online course opportunity that has been modified to better serve the needs of individuals or entire school districts are considered unique opportunities. This includes but is not limited to self-paced courses and professional development for school district cohorts. To inquire about establishing a Unique opportunity for your group or district, email: elearning@etech.ohio.gov.

What method of payment is used to pay the course fees?

Course registration fees may be paid by credit / debit card. Districts may issues a purchase order with the participant's name, the course dates and the course title.

How do I print a copy of my certificate?

- Login to Hall Pass
- Click on the "My Applications/Transcript" link in the top right corner
- Click on the title of the course for the certificate
- Scroll down and click on the "Conclusion" link
- Click on the "View / Print" link
Adobe Acrobat will launch with a copy of your certificate. Follow the usual steps of your computer and printer for your copy. Certificates will always be obtained this way. Certificates can only be printed after your course facilitator has recorded your attendance.
