Evaluation Toolkit
-
Why a toolkit?
-
In lieu of asking each Telecommunity consortium to provide a specific set of data that presupposes both the use of interactive video and its outcomes, the toolkit is intended to provide consortia with tools that enable common metric approaches, while leaving their exact content and goals to be determined locally. Data gathered using the toolkit will be used to create profiles of each consortia and the schools and projects within the consortia as part of the Year Seven Telecommunity evaluation.
-
What can be done with it?
-
The toolkit can guide local data gathering and evaluation efforts, including:
- Identifying goals for interactive video
- Identifying key data sources for interactive video
- Documenting local success stories
- Gathering and cataloguing interactive video artifacts
- Creating student and teacher testimonials about interactive video projects
-
Who should use it?
-
Telecommunity consortium coordinators, Telecommunity building liaisons, and participating teachers.
-
What is the "unit of analysis?"
-
The unit of analysis assumed in the tools ranges from a participating classroom, to all classrooms involved in a co
project, to an entire consortium. The principal unit is the participating classroom.
-
How do you use the toolkit?
-
The toolkit is best used by a team of people involved in the Telecommunity from a variety of perspectives that are involved with gathering data about the impact and effectiveness of the project. A typical team might be comprised of a consortium
coordinator, two building liaisons, a strong participating teacher, and a student involved in a specific interactive video project.
