Certification

Approval Process - Certification of Tech Plans
eTech Ohio serves as the state's certifying entity for Ohio public school district technology plans for E-Rate. All Ohio public school district technology plans must be submitted for review and approval through the online TPT.

When an organization's technology planning committee completes the draft technology plan, and the plan committee leader (administrator) marks the plan as "draft complete," the eTech Ohio Educational Technology Consultant assigned to the organization will review the plan for completion. After Educational Technology Consultant's review and approval, the organization's treasurer and superintendent are required to review and approve the technology plan.

Tech Planning Committee Leader > Educational Technology Consultant > Treasurer > Superintendent
Certification Approval Period
For E-Rate, it is very important to have a full year approval and certification, as described in Example 1, to receive full funding. For more information on E-Rate, go to the E-Rate Technical Assistance Program .
Certification Letters
Certification letters are available online through TPT. Once your technology plan has been reviewed and approved by eTech Ohio and your Treasurer and Superintendent have approved the plan, the TPT Administrators for your organization will be notified by email and the certification letter will be available in the TPT by clicking on the "Archives" tab. Certification letters from plans created in TPT v2.5 are also available under the "Archives" tab of the TPT. If you have questions about paper plan certification letters, please contact your assigned Educational Technology Consultant.
