Introduction to Videoconferencing Services

The eTech Ohio Videoconferencing Network Operations Center (VNOC), operates and maintains a state-wide videoconference network providing service to over 1,150 active video network users. The current network standards support video transmission protocols for H.323/IP, H.320/ATM and H.320/Direct connect T-1.
Through the VNOC, eTech Ohio provides technical assistance and videoconferencing bridging services to our educational customers Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. eTech Ohio's VNOC is closed on state holidays.

VNOC supported services include:
- Video bridging management and operations;
- Videoconference scheduling;
- Consultation and new site registration; and
- Help desk and technical support.

Registration Overview
-
Videoconference systems must be registered in eTech Ohio's VC Manager scheduling system in order to utilize video bridging, gateway and scheduling services. All previous VC Wizard video rooms and user accounts have been transferred to VC Manager and all users should utilize the new system to update existing video rooms or register new rooms. eTech Ohio has developed a set of online tools to assist users with performing these tasks.
Note: In order to access the following online tools you must have an existing eTech Ohio Hall Pass account or you will be prompted to register for a new Hall Pass Account.

Scheduling Overview

VC Manager is a Web-Based Scheduling Interface - used to schedule all video conferences on Ohio's state-wide educational videoconference network. Users can instantly determine availability and schedule video bridge resources with a click of the mouse. Meetings are scheduled by choosing rooms from a directory. An online calendar allows users to quickly view and modify meeting details.

This tool is used to logon and schedule all videoconferences. Note: In order to access this online tool you must have an existing VC Manager scheduling account.

This tool is a complete, "searchable" list of video rooms on the State of Ohio's Educational Video Network.

- Videoconference Schedule Viewer
This tool allows searches to be performed to find any reservation scheduled using VC Manager. Search criteria includes conference title, conference ID, date/time, room name, topic, audience or date range. This tool also has built-in reporting functions that can show total conferences and conference hours in which your video room has been used!
