Supporting Transformation Efforts Grant

ARRA Banner

Overview

The primary goal of the ARRA Title II-D Teaching and Learning Environments Technology grant program was to improve student learning and the development of 21st century skills including problem solving and critical thinking, collaboration and communication, creativity and innovation, and media and information literacy enabled by the use of technology. By focusing on student learning and professional development, the program encouraged the use of innovative instructional strategies such as project/problem-based learning and the effective integration of technology to establish successful methods and practices.

This RFP for the Supporting Transformation Efforts competitive grant was developed to assist schools that have met requirements and expectations of the ARRA Title II-D Round 2 grant and have a solid plan to continue the work begun through the grant. The purpose of providing an additional year of support was to:

  1. Provide professional development opportunities for other teachers within the school so they, too, can create 21st century, student-centered learning environments;
  2. Provide additional time and support for ARRA teachers to implement instructional strategies including project/problem-based learning (PBL) and technology integration; and
  3. Share lessons-learned and best practices within the school and across the state.

The grant concluded in June of 2012. Each school submitted a Final Report which shares lessons learned and recommendations for others. You may access the final reports below:
